As Director of Interior Design for Provenance Hotels, Ashley Stempler directs design projects across the company’s existing portfolio and oversees the concept and execution of all new properties it develops. Her influence and vision can be felt across the seven new hotels and myriad of renovations the company has unveiled in the past two and half years. Stempler drives the collaboration among the design teams assembled for each project with an eye toward translating and elevating each hotel’s brand story positioning. This includes directing the deeply-integrated art collections that are a Provenance Hotels signature. She also works closely with the company’s development team on the acquisition of new projects by showing owners and investors the art of the possible and the power of design.

A graduate of Drexel University in Philadelphia with a Masters in Interior Architecture, Stempler started her career at Granary Associates (now Stantec) in that city then moved to Dubai to work with Design Design before being tapped by Design Worldwide Partnership to move to Hong Kong and take on a variety of retail and food and beverage projects across Asia. Stempler earned her stripes in the hotel sector at Hirsch Bedner Associates in Hong Kong before moving to Gettys, also in Hong Kong, where she specialized in luxury hotel properties. Prior to joining Portland-based Provenance Hotels, Stempler was design director at Commune Hotels and Resorts in New York.
