Carlos Couturier serves as a creative force and managing partner at Grupo Habita, which owns and/or manages Condesadf, Deseo [Hotel + Lounge], Habita Monterrey, La Purificadora, Hotel Habita, Hotel Boca Chica, Downtown México and Downtown Beds Mexico, Endémico, Hôtel Americano, and Distrito Capital, lifestyle hotels in Mexico and New York.
He also solely owns and operates Azúcar and Maison Couturier in Veracruz. Based now in New York City, Mexico City, and Veracruz, Couturier is part of the team behind Grupo Habita’s hospitality brands, including the first lifestyle and design hotel in Mexico City and Latin America: Hotel Habita.
He oversees all design, architecture and creative teams for all Grupo Habita properties and is currently devoted to Hotel Escondido in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca.
He also oversees all future projects for Grupo Habita, such as Downtown Mexico in downtown Mexico City and Endemico in Baja California wine region Valle de Guadalupe.
Couturier’s work has been in various national and international publications, and each one of the properties has been designed with architecture and interior design by luminaries including Enrique Norten from TEN Arquitectos, India Mahdavi, Victor and Ricardo Legorreta, Javier Sanchez, and Joseph Dirand.
